God Extended Hands of Mercy foundation (GEHOM) is a collaborative foundation and non-governmental organization, with over 10 years of delivering services to the under privileged and vulnerable population in Nigeria. Established in 2010 and registered in 2013, with headquarters in Aba, South Eastern Nigeria, the cardinal objectives of GEHOM include striving to improve the living conditions of these target populations. In this regard, GEHOM has over the years conducted programs and outreaches on two major thematic programs of the foundation: Health, Education and Agriculture.
On health, over 4,218 indigent individuals have benefited from medical outreaches to the remote communities of Abia and Imo states. With support from the Mercy Gate International Ministries, Inc, other organizations and public spirited individuals, the foundation has provided numerous eyeglasses for these individuals. The foundation also sponsored eye surgeries for 48 persons and has been following these individualswith post-surgery medications. With effect from the last quarter of 2021, the foundation is adding a new health programme for HIV prevention and support/economic empowerment for Persons Leaving with HIV (PLHIV).
On education, many children from indigent homes in these communities of intervention have been placed on free education at the Mercy Gate Nursery and Primary school. The foundation strives to source and gather resources for helping towards the educational needs of these children. Also, between 2015 and 2017, GEHOM was part of OVC (Orphan and Vulnerable Children) programme in 4 local government councils of Abia state.
Gehom also join hands in fight against COVID-19 since outburst in Nigeria and Africa, nose mask, hand sanitizer and other preventive materials and vacine have given out to millions of vulnerable people both urban and rural areas.
On Agriculture.. Over 10,000 indigent individuals have benefited from Agric empowerment and free fertilizer grants for farming through Gehom agricultural empowerment program.
Gehom is also setting up a skill acquisition center where over 25000 indigent people will be trained on tailoring, hair dressing ,soap, cream making and confectionaries.
By year 2030 Gehom is going to set up an international standard free mission hospital with the name Gehom free medical center where expatriates will be offering free medical services including surgeries to indigent individuals in Africa.
